The European Commission has announced a set of proposals to amend the 2003 Public Sector Information Directive. Among the implications of these proposals is the fact that museums, libraries and archives will be brought into the scope of the Directive.
The Collections Trust has produced a Briefing Paper looking at the implications of the proposed changes for cultural institutions in the UK and Europe, and providing an assessment of the likely risk to existing activities such as image licensing.
