Collections Trust provides practical help as local authority museums consider trust status

image: Practical Guide to Collections & Governance Practical help is now available to local authority museums considering a change in status, especially those looking to become independent trusts. The Collections Trust’s Practical Guide to Collections & Governance has been specifically written for under-informed and concerned directors, managers and staff to alert them to the real implications of change.

Almost half of those local authority museums surveyed by the Museums Association last year in its Impact of cuts to UK museums survey were looking to move to trust status.

Two new trustees appointed to the Collections Trust board

They are Hadrian Ellory-van Dekker, Head of Collections at the Science Museum and a member of the Science Museum Executive Group, and Rachael Rogers, Curator at Abergavenny Museum and Castle, Monmouthshire County Council.
