Collections Trust launches Collections Management Awards

Collections Trust logoThe Collections Trust has announced that nominations are now open for the inaugural Collections Trust Collections Management Awards. Presentation of the Awards will take place in London on 26 June during the evening reception of OpenCulture 2012, the annual collections management conference presented by the Collections Trust.

The two awards for which nominations are now being sought are:

1.The Collections Practice Award: celebrating projects which demonstrate the application of innovative practice to improve the sustainability and use of collections in arts and cultural organisations.

2. Collections on a Budget: celebrating projects which demonstrate improvement in collections management by organisations with a turnover of less than EUR500k. The winner of this award will receive a prize of £500.

The Collections Trust champions best collections practice within the sector, so it naturally makes sense to recognise organisations adhering to these guidelines within their own work.

Nick Poole, CEO of Collections Trust, says: “We are delighted to be introducing these new awards which are a most timely addition to our portfolio. It is now, more than ever, that good practice in collections management is needed, in order to achieve sustainable and creative cultural organisations.”

Deadline for nominations is the 11th May. For more information on eligibility criteria and how to submit a nomination please visit www.collectionslink.org.uk/awards.

For more information about the Awards please contact Hayley Russell, Events Manager, on 020 7942 6081 or hayley@collectionstrust.org.uk.
