Free 3D object scanning may be made available to institutions who participate in the EC-funded Partage Plus (www.partage-plus.eu) project which seeks to digitise European Art Nouveau collections. The Collections Trust is co-ordinating the project, and is now seeking UK collections who wish to contribute their content to it.
The project involves working with 23 institutions in 17 European countries over a period of 24 months to digitize European Art Nouveau objects, artworks, posters, and buildings to create content and a specialist Art Nouveau terminology for more than 75,000 items - including 2,000 3D models - for access through Europeana.
The Collections Trust needs to contribute content to the project from UK institutions. Even if a collection is not currently online, the CT team is interested receiving information about it, and there may be the potential to receive free 3D scanning of selected objects as part of the project.
